When you are at Disneyland there are a couple of great things to ride to get to a few places without having to walk all the way and enjoy a little ride. One is in California Adventures and one is in Disneyland. The Disneyland is temporarily closed until 2018 (I think).
In California Adventures you can take the red trolley from Buena Vista Street to the area right by Tower of Terror ride. It only has the two stops, but if you are on your way to the Tower of Terror and you need a break ~ ride the trolly for fun.
The Disneyland Railroad is another great ride but is temporarily closed until Star Wars Land is built. When it opens up again... ride it! I think there are four stops. One on Main Street, New Orleans Square behind French Market Restaurant, One in front of Toontown, and one in Tomorrowland.
You have to wait a little till you get to ride it, but you will be able to get a ride to your next destination. Below is part of the map from a Disneyland app that shows the railroad tracks around the park.
